A little heads up: this is a review article of Miss Dior Eau De Parfum by Christian Dior, 2021. The original Miss Dior was a green chypre fragrance with notes of galbanum, jasmine, and patchouli, making it bold, sophisticated, and timeless. Over the years, Dior has reformulated and reinvented Miss Dior multiple times.
Miss Dior is one of the most iconic fragrances from the luxury fashion house Dior. It was first launched in 1947 by Christian Dior himself as his debut fragrance and it was meant to complement his revolutionary New Look fashion collection. The perfume was created to embody elegance, femininity, and the spirit of love.
I have a serious addiction when it comes to fragrances, especially designer scents, and I am always on the hunt for the next exquisite scent to add to my collection. I don’t really follow gender rules when it comes to perfume – unless it’s something unmistakably masculine like a cigar-scented fragrance or those with extreme oud scents. I absolutely love their iconic Dior Homme as well and often wear it on significant occasions. The scent is just incredible. Why should I deny myself that experience? It’s high time we break the outdated myth that fragrance needs to be confined by gender. A great scent is a great scent, no matter who wears it.
What I’m trying to say here is that I have always had a nose for those kinds of perfumes. And I used to find women’s perfume way too feminine, sweet, sugary and floral until I smelled Miss Dior Eau de Parfum. Let me tell you something, this perfume is literally not your usual sweet and feminine smell. The designer perfume is divine on next level. It’s definitely personal. It’s warm and simply a delight to have it in your collection.
Your choice of fragrance says a lot about your personality, mood, and even your intentions. Perfume indeed speaks. The kind of perfume you wear can evoke specific emotions. For instance, if you’re feeling warm and cozy or want to evoke that feeling, wear Miss Dior Eau de Parfum. If you wish to exude elegance and utmost sophistication, wear Baccarat Rouge 540.
What does Miss Dior Eau de Parfum smell like?
Miss Dior is the first feminine, floral-smelling perfume that made its way into my collection in a heartbeat. It opens with a strong hit of rich floral, vanilla, and sweetness, almost like an intensified version of what the base will eventually smell like. As it develops, the scent gains depth, and these notes blend together, mellowing into a warm, vanilla-like floral fragrance with a little bit of fruitiness.
What are the notes of Christian Dior Miss Dior perfume?
- Top notes are Peony, Lily-of-the-valley, Iris
- Middle notes are Rose, Peach, Apricot
- Base notes are Vanilla, Musk, Sandalwood
Does Miss Dior smell like an old lady?
Not in a million years. It doesn’t smell like that at all. If you’re thinking this fragrance smells like an ‘old lady,’ you’ve got it all wrong. Trust me. It’s the complete opposite of that. This scent is warm and full of life and it’s undeniably girly in a mature elegant way possible.
There’s a quiet, graceful femininity to it, but it’s not too overpowering. It literally screams qualities like humbleness, patience, and kindness. If I had to describe it in one sentence, I would do justice to it by saying that this perfume is grace, kindness, and positivity in a bottle.
How long does the Miss Dior perfume last?
Now, when it comes to longevity, this perfume isn’t messing around. If you spray it on your clothes, it clings to the fabric for over a day. And if you’re someone who doesn’t wash their clothes after every wear (no judgment, we’ve all got our favorite hoodies), your wardrobe might just start smelling like Miss Dior permanently. It’s like a built-in air freshener, but make it fancy. However, the longevity of this perfume is not that long on the skin. The smell will stay for about 5-6 hours if you spray it on your skin, so it’s not exactly a monster when it comes to long lasting results on your skin.
Final thought
Bottom line is that if you want to get Miss Dior Eau de Parfum and are skeptical about its smell, don’t be. If you want to smell feminine, vanilla, and powdery, but in the most humble and mature way, this is the scent for you. It does have a presence, and you will definitely get noticed when you wear it.
Glowing reviews
Like any fragrance, Miss Dior too has its fans and critics. Some adore its fragrance, while others find it doesn’t quite work with their body chemistry.
One reviewer describes it as pure joy, perfectly balanced between sweet and sharp, almost like a fruity drink with a woody base that keeps it from being too youthful. It’s playful yet sophisticated, making it a delight to wear.
On the flip side, another reviewer found that while it smelled beautiful and girly on fabric, their skin chemistry turned it into an unexpected “popcorn” scent. Let me tell you something here, I know it for a fact that fragrance can be tricky that way, what smells incredible on one person might not develop the same way on another.
And then there are those who completely fall in love with it. One perfume lover raved about how warm, well-blended, and elegant it felt, lasting over 8 hours and becoming even more beautiful as it settled into the skin. It’s a perfect daytime scent, sophisticated and inviting both at the same time.
Miss Dior seems to have a blend of freshness, warmth, and femininity that many appreciate about this perfume, though its performance can vary from person to person. You might like it or you might found it to be sweet. Personally I think its not the kind of sweet that you would end up hating it. But in any case if you’re considering it, it’s definitely worth testing before fully committing to it.
