When it comes to finding the best dupe for Baccarat Rouge 540, I have to admit, there’s nothing that perfectly aligns with the magic of the original. But I’ve come across a handful of fragrances that come impressively close to the signature blend. While they may not be the exact replicas of Baccarat Rouge 540, they have the same vibe that will remind you of it.
Al Haramain Amber Oud Rouge
It’s one of the best Baccarat Rouge 540 dupes available. The opening notes are airy saffron, leading into a sweet, woody scent. As it dries down, the fragrance deepens, with saffron at the top, followed by jasmine and cedar in the middle.
The base reveals ambergris, woody notes, and musk. Overall, the composition is quite similar to the original. It smells 90% like the original Baccarat Rouge 540, exactly the same. In fact. Amber Oud Rouge is even stronger than the OG. The bottle is heavy, adding a touch of luxury.
Both fragrances are sweet and woody but Amber Oud Rouge leans more toward the woody side. It’s almost impossible to tell the difference. You will fall in love with this fragrance.
ALT Crystal No. 23
I have tried both ALT Bleau version and Crystal no 23, and I must say, they are amazing to the point that I wouldn’t think twice about investing in them again. Crystal No 23. is one of the second closest among the best Bacarrat Rouge dupes that I have tried myself after Al Haramain Amber oud rouge. It has the same vibe as Baccarat Rouge 540 with notes of jasmine, saffron, cedarwood, and a touch of ambergris.
From the very first spray, you’ll recognize the woody notes and depth of the original MFK. You are definitely going to earn some compliments on this one. The entire bottle of crystal no 23. will last you an eternity as the fragrance leans toward the stronger end of the scent spectrum. But worry not, it blends in just perfectly.
Dossier Ambery Saffron
Dossier top notes are saffron and orange blossom. Middle notes jasmine and cedarwood
Base notes are Amber, Fir balsam, all identical to BR540. The scent isn’t exactly the same as Baccarat Rouge 540 but you can definitely pick up a note or two that remind you of it. When you first spray it, the alcohol smell is overwhelming than the fragrance itself. It takes some time for the heart notes and base notes to develop.
Speaking of longevity, it will not last longer. It stays for a moderate amount of time just as you would mostly expect with a dupe. The metal cap of the perfume bottle is a nice touch. It might be a small detail, but I personally want my perfume collection to not only smell elegant but look elegant too.
Zara Red Temptation
The combination of saffron, jasmine, and amber blends beautifully. If I had to describe the scent, I’d say it smells like burnt cotton candy or caramel. The praline in the opening notes gives it that sweetness. But later on as it dries down, the strong amber notes become more dominant creating a warm, earthy fragrance. It is comparable to Ariana Grande’s Cloud perfume and they are both dupes for Baccarat Rouge 540. But I found Cloud to be more on the sweeter side.
In The Stars Fine Fragrance Mist
I haven’t used this one personally but the reviews on the closeness to the OG seems to be pretty convincing. It has a woody, peppery, and slightly floral scent. Those who loved it mentioned that the peppery note really stood out to them. But If you’re not a fan of peppery scents, this one might not be for you. This perfume divides opinions into two different camps, like poles apart, you either absolutely love it or can’t stand it. There’s no middle ground with this one making it a bold choice.
Pacifica Dream Moon
I love the dreamy design of the Pacifica Dream bottle. I didn’t actually buy it because it’s said to be a dupe for Baccarat Rouge 540 – the notes aren’t an exact match to the OG. I got it because it went viral a while back. It was only after I bought it that I found out people consider it a dupe.
The scent features notes of earthy patchouli, sandalwood, and pink rose which is quite different from the official notes of Baccarat Rouge 540, which made me skeptical at first. But to my surprise, the fragrance does share a similar vibe. It’s probably the woody main accord that gives it that resemblance.
This perfume is unisex and has a calming, almost trance-like quality that’s really unique. While it does smell like Baccarat Rouge, I would rather rate the similarity about a 5 out of 10.
Ariana Grande’s Cloud perfume
It shares a similar airy and musky vibe with Baccarat Rouge 540, but it’s definitely not an exact dupe. In fact, out of all the perfumes people compare to Baccarat, this one is probably the least similar. Cloud has more of a creamy coconut and vanilla fragrance, while Baccarat Rouge is more complex, with saffron, amberwood, and that signature burnt sugar-like scent.
If I had to rate their resemblance, I’d give it maybe a 4 out of 10. You can definitely catch a little bit of Baccarat Rouge in Cloud, especially in the opening and some of the heart notes, but the dry down is completely different. Cloud feels more youthful, cozy, and warm, it’s like your favorite fluffy sweater, while Baccarat is more sophisticated and luxurious. Both are stunning, just in different ways.
If you’re a fan of vanilla scents, you’ll probably love Cloud on its own, rather than as a dupe for Baccarat Rouge 540. But again, Cloud is way more budget-friendly, while Baccarat Rouge is luxury-level expensive. So if you’re okay with just a hint of that Baccarat Rouge DNA in Cloud, you won’t be disappointed. But if you’re expecting a near-identical dupe of the OG, this one isn’t the best match for that.
